Deepwater Pump Installation Union Council Wah Lashari, Tehsil Jampur, District Rajanpur

Location: Union Council Wah Lashari, Tehsil Jampur, District Rajanpur
Completion Year: 2023
With the blessings of Allah Almighty, Raah-E-Emdaad Foundation® (REF) successfully completed its first water pump installation project in the remote and underserved region of Union Council Wah Lashari, located near the Koh-Suleman mountain range—commonly referred to as the Pachadh area.
This region suffers from an acute water shortage, with residents often traveling 20–25 kilometers to fetch clean drinking water. The area lacks deep borehole facilities, and existing shallow water sources are highly contaminated with unsafe levels of Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) and trace metals, making the water unfit for consumption.
Key Benefits:
To address this critical need, REF installed a solar-operated submersible water pump, drawing clean water from a depth of 200–250 feet. The system now provides approximately 50 liters of potable water per minute, directly benefiting over 450 residents in the surrounding community. The water is used not only for drinking but also for washing, sanitation, and hygiene—making it a life-changing resource for the local population.
Cost:
The total cost of the project was PKR 150,000, covering the installation of the deepwater pump, solar-powered system, and solar panels. The project was centrally managed by the REF project management team, while a dedicated committee of local volunteers ensured smooth execution and maintenance at the site.
This initiative marks a significant milestone in REF’s mission to provide sustainable solutions to vital human needs. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our donors and supporters whose contributions made this possible.
This project has become a lifeline for the community, drastically reducing water-borne illnesses and saving precious time previously spent on fetching water.
