With the blessings of Allah Almighty, REF has completed its first water pump installation project at Union Council Wah Lashari, Tehsil Jampur District Rajanpur. The selected location is very remote near koh-suleman ranges locally known as Pachadh area with acute water shortage and residents of area travel for 20-25 km to fetch drinking water. As deep boreholes are not installed in the area and shallow water pumps, water quality is not fit for drinking, and water has very high TDS and trace metals contents. A solar-operated, submersible water pump has been installed to provide quality water for drinking, washing, sanitization, and hygiene. The installed Deepwater pump (200-250 feet) is not less than a blessing for the community. It pulls up approximately 50 liters of drinkable water per minute for around 450 persons in the vicinity. The total expenditure of the project is 150,000 PKR, including the installation of a solar-operated submersible water pump and the solar plates. The project is being administrated centrally by the REF project management team while the committee of the local volunteers has looked after the setup at the site.
